Music

Essential to powerful worship, good music elevates the spirit as it inspires one's faith. There's significant truth in the words - He who sings, prays twice. Singing, and music in general, can be a deeper and higher means of communication. In and through great sacred music, the Holy Spirit touches the human spirit. Transformation in heart, mind and soul can result.

The purpose of Trinity Church's music program is to glorify God using the highest and the best of sacred music. Hence, we use mostly traditional hymns, anthems and solos, preludes and postludes by the greatest renaissance, baroque, classical and romantic composers. Some contemporary music is incorporated into the classics.

The highlight of the year is our Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols offered in the Third Sunday in Advent at 5:00 in the afternoon. Wonderful music of the Advent and Christmas seasons presented in the beautiful candlelit sanctuary provides a superb way to celebrate the season.

The Parish Choir is under the direction of Christopher D. Maynard and is drawn from volunteers from the Parish. The choir sings at the 10:30 am service on Sundays from late September through Pentecost, Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, Holy Week and Easter Sunday.

Please contact the Director of Music/Organist Christopher D. Maynard if you wish to join the parish choir.

Those who sing, pray twice
